Laura L. Schanz: President of Laura Schanz Consulting Associates

Effective October 1, 2005 Laura Schanz is President of Laura Schanz Consulting Associates located in Lancaster.  Laura Schanz Consulting Associates provides consulting, coaching and communications professional services.  From late 2002 until March of 2005 Laura Schanz served as President and Chief Operating Officer of an independent insurance and financial services Agency located in Lancaster, PA, employing 40 Associates.  Laura is a licensed property and casualty insurance broker and received her degree in Business Administration from Elizabethtown College in January, 2007.

She is a former Principal of North & Schanz Consulting Group, Inc.  Founded by Laura in 1997 and sold to her partner in 2002, the firm continues under the capable leadership of Roger North.

Ms. Schanz held the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Professional Insurance Woman (CPIW) designations during her insurance career from 1980 to 1996.  She has been authorized as a Blanchard Solutions Group Raving Fans presenter and is a graduate and national faculty member of the Excellence in Speaking Institute®.   Laura was awarded the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce and Industry's 2002 Athena Award.  Most recently, she received the 2005 Lancaster County Career and Technology Center's Distinguished Alumni Award.  Her 26 years of business knowledge include insurance company and insurance agency experience, management, sales and small business ownership. 

Residing in Lancaster Laura and Terry Schanz are partners at Lancaster County Bible Church where she actively volunteers.  Her board and community service have included:  President of the Lancaster Area Habitat for Humanity; Board Chair of The Mix at Arbor Place; Board Member of Junior Achievement of Central PA; Board Member of Keystone Chapter Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc.; Lancaster Chamber of Commerce & Industry Excellence Committee, Athena Awards Committee; Community Initiatives Council, and the Lancaster County Career and Technology Center Foundation Board of Directors; Small Business Mentor and instructor for ASSETS; Warwick Boys Basketball Parents Association, and Judge for the Central Penn Business Journal's Annual Non-Profit Innovation Awards. 

She most recently served as Team Leader of the Fundraising Team of The Mix at Arbor Place a faith based Teen Center in Lancaster City and with the Lancaster Chamber's Community Initiatives Council.
