Darlene Lyons: CEO, EZ Events

Long known as the leader in real estate and events, Darlene started her illustrious career “in-the-trenches” as a real estate agent.  First licensed in 1990, she quickly rocketed through the ranks to the top of her office. 

She caught the eye of another top agent named Roger Butcher who approached her to team up with him in his then-fledgling training company.  Recognizing her natural sales prowess and business acumen, Butcher persuaded Darlene to leave the real estate world as an agent and power his event division.  With record sales numbers set in the first year, 1986 marked the beginning of Darlene’s meteoric rise as an icon in the event industry. 

Pursued by other training legends such as Mike Ferry and Brian Buffini, Darlene set new records of event attendance and profits industry-wide.  It wasn’t long before huge conglomerates like Coldwell Banker, Prudential and RE/MAX gladly used her event skills.  In fact, Darlene ran the entire event division for many of the industry’s leaders for a decade or more. 

Then, in 1999, Darlene was offered a position with Homes.com.  They were posting dismal numbers and their event division was almost dead-on-the-vine.  They were putting on over 20 events per month, with an average of 19 attendees per event.  Darlene rose to the challenge.  The result:  within 120 days she raised the attendance to an average of 219 per event while still putting on 20 events each month. 

The behind-the-scenes “secret weapon” behind the massive success of some of the most well-known and respected trainers and companies in the industry, today Darlene works primarily as the consultant’s consultant although she still maintains a small and elite client list. 

Founder and President of both EzEvents, Inc., and Broker Agent Speakers Bureau, Inc., Darlene has built a highly effective, strong event team.
